Many of us live our life aligned to a belief system that was handed down to us. Our belief system is not created by planned intentional thoughts of our own. In fact, we are unaware of the ethical principles that are the building blocks of our belief system.

Ethical principles determine what you value, how you conduct yourself and by extension, what you will be able to create and achieve. Persistence and perseverance to achieve a goal, are dependent on ethical principles that act as cornerstones or the driving force that gives meaning and purpose to your life. When there are no foundation principles, nothing is valued enough for you to persist or persevere to achieve.

Truth is derived from fundamental principles. When fundamental principles are missing you are void of authenticity. Anything goes. And you cannot accomplish anything due to a lack of focus and a sense of direction. Principles are therefore your authentic truth.

Principles provide direction. It is often said that ‘if you do not know where you are going, any road will take you there.’ Your principles are your road map. They tell you where you are going and return you to the path when you have gotten off course.

Principles are what enhance your self-esteem since they endow you with purpose and meaning.

Principles are universal, permanent, and unchanging. They are intangible and fundamental truths that influence how you reason and perceive your world.

When you have no principles, you place value on things outside of yourself. This may lead to a life of misery, because although you set and achieve goals, your goals are impersonal goals, derived from social pressures. In some areas, goals you have set you may never achieve. The reason being, while these might be great goals at face value, because they are not in synch with some principles, you will struggle to stay motivated long enough to achieve them. And if you do achieve them, you will be dissatisfied.

Principles strengthens the social fabric of any society and enhances relationships.

When you have principles, you seek material possessions to assist you in living out those principles. In this way, material possessions do not become an end in themselves. And you will live a fulfilling life! When material possessions become an end in themselves, they make life miserable.

Living a principled life simplifies your life. It eliminates negative stress. It allows you the opportunity to tap into universal knowledge that can make you healthier and wealthier. It prevents you from being manipulated by others. You will be the creator of your world and the leader of your life. A principled person is always respected because principle guarantees health, wealth, and control. Principles are what formulate laws therefore, the principled person is a powerful person.

So, let us start at the very beginning. And that beginning is your principles.
