Benefits of Stretching: Increases flexibility and range of motion
As we get older, our muscles become less flexible and there is less range of motion in our joints. Activities such as bending, getting out of bed, sitting or climbing a staircase may all become difficult. Frequent stretching can help lengthen muscles and keep them more flexible. This will make our daily activities easier and more enjoyable.
Benefits of Stretching: Improves circulation
Flexible muscles are good at contraction and relaxation with movement. As they contract and relax they aid the circulation of blood to the various body parts. Increased blood circulation, brings more nutrients to our cells and removes waste products.
Benefits of Stretching: Allows For Better posture.
Muscles that have been tense and tight for a long time contribute to poor posture, which in turn can affect the functioning of our internal organs and our appearance. Stretching the muscles of the lower back, shoulders and chest can help keep the back in better alignment and improve posture. It also reduces pressure on our vertebral disc.
Stretching aids Relaxation and Relieves stress
Stretching, when done properly and frequently, helps to relax tense muscles which result from stress. The feeling of relaxation brings a sense of well-being and relief from tension.
Stretching Reduce or prevent lower back pain
Greater flexibility and range of motion of hamstrings and hip muscles help to reduce the stress on your spine that causes lower back pain.

Safe and Proven Stretching Exercises
There are many exercises noted on the web. Some are beneficial while others may causes injury. We will be introducing you to safe (i.e. recommended by medical practitioners),and beneficial stretches at this time. If you are having severe pain please contact your general physician before undertaking any exercise.
If you are 30 or more years in age and have not been doing any stretches, your muscles will demonstrate some level of inflexibility. The older you are the more inflexible they become. If this is the case … start out slowly. Allow your muscle enough time to slowly `give way`… if you don`t you will cause muscle tears and tendon injury.
Set aside two hours per day to focus on your body and spirit. We have gotten so use to popping pills (which is fast and easy); but most pills have tremendous side effects. If we govern our body aright we become less dependent on these harmful pills.
